Sprouts are a living and wholesome food, and one of the most powerful means of healing. Sprouts contain a large amount of iron, which participates in the formation of hemoglobin, and through it oxygen is transported. They provide us with a rich amount of vital energy and nutrients. They are a low-calorie food that is easily digested and speeds up metabolism. They also help in eliminating toxins and free radicals from the body. A diet rich in sprouts, fresh fruits and vegetables is the most beneficial for the body. If you suffer from fatigue, sinusitis or ulcers - the chlorophyll contained in wheat sprouts, for example, can greatly help in the fight against these diseases. They also work well for those who have digestive problems - sprouts reduce the load on the digestive system by almost 90 percent.
Method of preparation:
You can prepare sprouts at home using various methods. One of the easiest methods is to use a regular flat plate. Cover it with gauze or another water-absorbing material. Sprinkle a layer of seeds on the gauze and soak it with boiled and cooled water. Water is added so that the gauze is kept wet at all times. Place the seeds in a warm and dark place. Plants begin to sprout within 2-4 days, depending on the type of seeds. Seedlings from large seeds, such as: peas, soybeans, chickpeas, etc. or seeds with husks, such as: pumpkin, sunflower are chopped before consumption. Small seeds can be eaten whole.
Another method is to use a jar with gauze. The gauze is placed on the neck of the jar and secured with a rubber band. This makes rinsing and draining the water very easy. If the seeds are smaller, the gauze should be placed in several layers. For large grains, such as those of chickpeas and soybeans, gauze is not necessary, as we can cover the neck of the jar with our hand when draining. This sprouting method is suitable for almost all seeds that are not mucilaginous.
