Cocoa beans are found in the light yellow pods of the evergreen tropical tree, Theobroma cacao. It originates from Central and South America and thrives in areas around the Equator. The name of the Amazonian tree Theobroma cacao literally means "food of the gods".

The cocoa beans themselves are about 3-5 cm large, deep brown with a characteristic cocoa taste, naturally bitter. A favorite of natural chocolate connoisseurs. Although small in size, they are packed with an impressive amount of nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Cocoa has long been known as an invigorating and toning food, as well as a natural antioxidant.
