For another year, many people are preparing for the Wheat Diet, which will start in early February. Let's take a closer look at the philosophy and idea of one of the most popular methods for purifying the spirit and body, bequeathed by the Master Peter Deunov.

In this article, you will find out how to do the wheat diet, as well as answers to frequently asked questions.

“The wheat grain is an emblem of the human soul. It represents a great history in the development of nature. If you could unfold the leaves of the wheat grain, to trace its history, you would fully understand the history of the human soul. Just as the wheat grain falls into the earth and dies, just as it sprouts, grows, and bears seed, the same happens with the human soul.“
The Master Peter Deunov

What is the Wheat Diet?

During the cold months, when there are not enough fresh fruits and vegetables in the diet, waste products, toxins, and poisons accumulate in the body. To fully benefit from the spring solar energies, it is important to support the natural purification of the body.

The Wheat Diet of the Master Peter Deunov is much more than a fast or a diet. This diet has a beneficial effect not only on the body but also on the human spirit. Therefore, it is important for a person to maintain positive thoughts while undergoing the diet.

The Grand Wheat Diet always begins in February (never in another month), 1-3 days after the full moon. Since it falls on different dates each year, the start of the diet is not always on the same date. Sometimes, when the full moon is at the end of the month, the diet can even continue into March.

Considering the daily cycle of the week, it is most favorable (but not mandatory) for the diet to begin on Wednesday, so that the fast is broken on the tenth day, a Friday. It is mandatory for the breaking of the fast to occur while the moon is still waning, before the new moon date.

February is not an accidental month for the Wheat Diet. At that time, nature is still "hibernating." This period before spring is more favorable for the body and suitable for cleansing. Thus, both the body and mind tune in to absorb the abundant spring prana.

January would be too harsh a month, with lower temperatures and requiring a higher caloric intake.

Wheat Diet in 2026 - when does it start and how long does it last?

The Wheat Diet in 2026 starts on February 4th. It always begins in February and depends on the full moon. Last year, in 2025, the wheat diet started on February 14th (with an alternative date of February 17th).

Preparation is ten days, the diet itself lasts ten days. Reintroduction of food also lasts ten days. If you miss the first date for observing the diet in February, don't worry - there is an alternative date possible in the same month.

History of the Wheat Diet

Records indicate that the wheat diet was bequeathed to the White Brotherhood about 80 years ago. A reliable article on the observance of the diet was first published in issue 1/1995 of the "Bratstvo Life" newspaper. Over the past years, there has often been speculation on this matter, with many interpretations that, over time, have evolved into variations of how the diet is conducted.

The story of the wheat diet's origin is interesting. Initially, only the Master and his cook, Sister Yordanka Zhekova of the White Brotherhood, practiced it secretly, without the knowledge of others. The reason why the Master did not want to share it is unclear.

The wheat diet was not described in any discourse. This lack of information gave rise to numerous different ways of conducting the diet. One evening, the Master appeared in Sister Yordanka's dream and allowed her to share the diet with the rest of the White Brotherhood who were interested in it.

How to Prepare for Peter Deunov's Wheat Diet?

Before starting the diet, it is advisable to cleanse our bowels of their contents using laxative tea, an enema, Epsom salts, or another method. If we do not do so, loosening of the bowels is usually observed on the second or third day.

It would be good to ensure clean food for the Wheat Diet.

The water we use during the diet for soaking the wheat and for drinking is also of utmost importance. Boiled water is recommended, preferably table water or spring water. Mineral water is not suitable due to its mineralization, but if you use such water, look for a higher pH value. Avoid using tap water.

Before starting the Wheat Diet, another key action is to check your acid-alkaline balance. It is of essential importance for an easier and trouble-free observance of the fast and is one of the main reasons for the planned 10-day preparatory phase.

How to Eat During the Wheat Diet

During the wheat diet, the main food is wheat, which is divided into equal portions for morning, noon, and evening. It is consumed along with other strictly specific foods, which we will examine in the following lines. We will also show you what food should be included in the daily routine of the diet.

Sample Daily Menu for the Wheat Diet

The main stage of the wheat diet (detoxification) lasts 10 days.

For daily observance of the wheat diet, we need:

  • 100 gr. wheat / spelt;
  • 3 apples;
  • 9 walnuts;
  • Honey;
  • Lemon.

The goal is for each meal during the day to always include a portion of wheat along with one apple, 3 walnuts, and honey. It is the consumption of the same foods every day during the diet that supports the effective cleansing of the body.

Main Food Products for the Wheat Diet

The foods you consume during the wheat diet must be clean. This applies not only to the diet but in general. It is also desirable to provide slightly larger quantities than necessary.

Also, make sure the foods you use have absolutely no defects and look good.

For the entire Wheat Diet, you will need the following quantities of food:

  • 1 kg. wheat / spelt;
  • 30 apples;
  • 10 lemons;
  • 90 walnuts;
  • 1 jar of honey (about 1kg).

Let's look at the main food products for the diet - how they are prepared and what benefits they bring.

Wheat

The main food in the diet is wheat. According to the Master Peter Deunov, with the appearance of wheat, the evolution of man began. Wheat is rich in vitamins B1, B2, E, and PP, minerals (sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus), as well as fiber and antioxidants.

Since most of the wheat we consume today is GMO, it is recommended to use only organic wheat or varieties that have not undergone genetic modification, such as spelt, emmer, and kamut.

Whole grains of wholemeal wheat are used for the diet. A wheat grain consists of a hull, endosperm, and wheat germ. It is believed that if wheat is subjected to heat treatment or milled, it loses part of its vital energy, its "prana."

A key process is the preparation of wheat.

100 grams of wheat are washed very well in the evening, placed in a well-insulated thermos or ceramic pot. The wheat is covered with boiling water almost to the top, and the thermos is tightly closed so that the wheat does not have access to air.

In the morning, only the wheat water is carefully poured out of the thermos and drunk on an empty stomach, half an hour to an hour before breakfast, with honey and lemon added to taste. The water is not drunk, but "chewed," because it is a very nutritious liquid. This water can be taken as a medicinal remedy to calm the nervous system for 40 days.

The wheat can also be lightly boiled for one minute. It should be softened, even slightly cracked, but not overcooked. It is divided into three parts, eaten slowly, and chewed 99 times.

On the first morning, one says: "Lord, accept me into the healing sanctuary of Nature for ten days."

Spelt

If you prefer spelt, it can be consumed completely raw, as it is much softer than wheat and easily chewed.

You can vary the cooking methods on different days of the diet if you need variety.

It is also important that the spelt is of good quality to ensure you get all the necessary nutrients, which is an easy task with Bio spelt from Bio Klasa.

In all variations, however, it is important that the spelt be well washed beforehand and prepared in a way that is tasty to you.

Lemons

We know that lemons, and citrus fruits in general, are known for their high content of vitamin C, and other vitamins such as A, B, B2, P (rutin). These fruits are also rich in various types of minerals.

Here are words about lemons from the Master:

"The lemon developed in an era when acids predominated. Anyone who is apathetic should consume a piece of lemon every morning. The acids in lemon give activity to a person. Lemons are a pure food and leave no residue in the body."

Lemons are not a mandatory addition during the diet, but if desired, a few drops of lemon juice can be added to the wheat water.

Apples

Apples are also an important part of the diet. If you feel you need more food, you can choose larger apples. If you need variety at some point, you can choose different varieties.

It is recommended that apples be fresh, preferably homegrown or organic, and thoroughly washed. When we cleanse, our body becomes more sensitive, and even the smallest ingested poison or impurity can have a negative impact.

Therefore, it is important to choose the cleanest possible products to eat during these 10 days.

Apples should be eaten three a day, but did you know that we also need to have the right mindset when eating them?

Here are a few words about the apple from the Master who founded the White Brotherhood:

"When you eat an apple, put all your love into it, think of the tree it grew on, and your soul will connect with the advanced beings who worked on it. If you love the apple in this way and accept it into yourself, you will gain more energy than if you had worked for a whole year."
"The apple represents the finest thought of feelings. The apple brings softness, makes a person gentle, mild, indulgent."

Walnuts

For walnuts, it is recommended that they be whole in their shells. This way, not only can you easily count the nine walnuts for each day, but you will also have fresh and delicious nuts.

Walnuts keep best in their shells, and once removed, these nuts begin to undergo unfavorable processes of oxidation and loss of nutrients. The same applies to spelt, which, unlike wheat, is encased in hard and dense husks.

You can prepare for the wheat diet with our clean Organic Walnuts from Bio Klasa. We know they contain iodine and are good for the brain. It's interesting how, when you look at a walnut, it itself resembles a brain.

We also know its presence in numerous recipes of Bulgarian cuisine, but few people know the following statements from the Master:

"A person should eat a hundred walnuts a year. They can also be added to nettle dishes. Do not overdo it with them."
"Walnuts develop a person's mind, they have a good effect on the brain. The walnut has three shells: one green, which is connected to the physical world, a second, connected to the spiritual world, and the walnut itself is the Divine world."

Honey

Honey should not be overdone – a maximum of 2-3 teaspoons per day. This is important because it sharply raises blood sugar, followed by a sharp drop. This leads to trembling, a feeling of intense hunger, and hot flashes.

As a result, the amount of honey consumed can increase, leading to a vicious cycle. If this doesn't bother you, you can eat as much honey as you like during the diet, as it is a highly medicinal food.

Here's what Peter Deunov says about honey:

"Honey leaves no residue in the body. It is preferable for a person to eat one spoon of honey instead of sugar. To calm the nerves, it is good to eat one spoonful of honey before bed."

Honey, as we know, has antibacterial properties. There are various types of honey that can be found on the market, each with different properties.

Manuka honey (Leptospermum scoparium) is considered particularly valuable, distinguished by its high content of methylglyoxal (MGO), which gives it powerful medicinal properties. You can find it in our special selection of Organic Honey and Bee Products.

Reintroduction of Food After the Wheat Diet

On the 10th day of the diet, the so-called breaking of the fast or reintroduction of food follows. At this time, "Angel Soup" is consumed. It is prepared by boiling 3 medium-sized potatoes in water, and finally adding a few sprigs of chopped parsley and seasoning with lemon (salt is not recommended, as after cleansing, the body will react very strongly). The soup is consumed for 2 days.

Here is what the Master Peter Deunov says about breaking the fast:

"After the fast, as long as possible, use simple food and food that requires little strength for digestion, so that your appetite is not aroused, so that your lungs can develop, so that you can receive more nourishment from the air and water, to extract more juices from food than now. The important thing with fasting is to achieve strength, health, and not to boast and compete who can fast for more days. A person who has fasted for 10 days can do many things; one who has fasted for 20 days will be freed from many delusions."
Peter Deunov, "Book of Health"

Gradually and evenly increase calories, with the idea of reaching your normal daily intake after the 10th day. The most important rule – do not overeat!

Here is a sample menu for the main foods during the reintroduction phase:

  • Day 1 - potato.
  • Day 2 - rice;
  • Day 3 - millet, bulgur;
  • Day 4 - buckwheat;
  • Day 5 - lentils /peeled/;
  • Day 6 - peas;
  • Day 7 - green beans;
  • Day 8 - chickpeas, lentils /unpeeled/;
  • Day 9 - cabbage;
  • Day 10 - cooked beans.

The idea is to gradually reintroduce food to the body until you reach your normal caloric intake after day 10. If your normal daily intake is 2000 calories, you should calculate the reintroduction so that you reach that amount after day 10. Don't forget to drink enough water every day.

Benefits of Following the Wheat Diet

The benefits of following the Wheat Diet can be many and varied. The main goal is to cleanse a person's body and mind.

Here are some specific benefits that can be gained from following a wheat diet:

  • Increased energy, vitality, and self-confidence;
  • Beneficial effect on problems such as headaches, dermatological issues, and bloating or heaviness in the stomach;
  • Increased concentration and sensitivity to tastes and smells;
  • Improvements in bowel movement cyclicity;
  • Cleansing of the digestive tract;
  • Release from excess toxins in the body and negative thoughts.

Of course, the benefits are not limited to those listed. The regimen can bring various personal benefits that are strictly individual.

Potential risks of following the wheat diet

Before starting a wheat diet, it is advisable to consult a medical professional to determine if this form of cleansing is suitable for you. This is an especially important step if you suffer from illnesses or are taking medications.

The wheat regimen is not recommended for the following groups of people:

  • People with celiac disease (gluten intolerance);
  • Pregnant and breastfeeding women;
  • People with chronic diseases such as diabetes.

During the regimen, headaches are the most common side effect. This is natural and is caused by the release of more toxins into the bloodstream. This condition usually lasts for about three days. If discomfort is severe, it is advisable to consult a specialist.

Other undesirable reactions due to following the regimen may also include temporary weakness and dizziness.

The period at the beginning of February can be exhausting for following diets, as the body's immune defense is weakened.

The regimen should also not be followed when undertaking heavy physical labor. After all, this is a form of fasting. It is good to rest, spend more time in the sun and fresh air, and not burden ourselves with bad thoughts and problems.

Therefore, before starting the regimen, make sure you are healthy and strong. If you have any doubts, consult a specialist.

Additional practices and tips for following the regimen

During the ten days of the regimen, we must be very sunny and positive, not allowing bad thoughts to creep into our minds. Physical and spiritual cleansing at the beginning of the year is a wonderful way to tune into the right wavelength and greet the year in excellent spirits and body.

During the preparation, the regimen, and the post-regimen period, you can safely perform some spiritual practice that does not require special effort or time.

For example, we will give you a spiritual exercise given by the Master. You should choose one word to repeat throughout the day.

Here are the exact instructions given to us by Peter Deunov for this exercise:

"You will pronounce the chosen word one hundred times in the morning, one hundred times at noon, and one hundred times in the evening. How will you choose your words? - Here's how: you will quietly and calmly stop within yourself, without hesitation, and as you calm down, a word will stand out in your consciousness. This word is for you; you will like it. For example, if I do the exercise on Monday, I will repeat the word "I will cleanse." You will count one hundred times on your fingers. Nature loves precision; it does not play games. And if you do not pronounce the word exactly one hundred times, but only ninety-nine times, it will grab you by the ear. You will count exactly one hundred times.."

Some people experience a crisis towards the middle of the wheat regimen. This crisis manifests as hesitation, helplessness, and temptations, and if a person does not give up then, it becomes easier and more pleasant afterwards.

Having taken into account the above facts, you can boldly embark on this year's Wheat Regimen.

Be healthy!
